Wotan, a.k.a. Odin or Woden, the warrior ruler of the Norse Gods. He is present at all battles and presides over Valhalla, seat of the gods. His pledges, contracts and bargains are often very costly to the gods. When he descends to earth to wander among mankind, he sheds his warrior aspect and shrouds himself in his blue mantle. His position as the all-wise, all-seeing father figure is often compromised by jealousy, lust and indecision. This is personified by his relationship with Loki.
